What is Book of Beasts?

Book of Beasts is a strategic collectible card game depicting the eponymous beasts inspired by mythical tales from around the world on a battle field where two beast summoners try to outwit each other with their card decks. The app is completely free to download.

Who created Book of Beasts?

The indie studio Gbanga created Book of Beasts. Gbanga is an indie game studio focusing on immersive games with deep gameplay that attract casual players and hardcore gamers alike. Gbanga’s awarded game portfolio reaches from appealing, easy to learn and hard to master puzzle games on mobile phones to strategy games like «Book of Beasts» and multiplayer virtual reality games on Google Play, Apple App Store, Steam and Microsoft Store. Gbanga has their headquarters based in Zurich, Switzerland. The complete team is based there and unifies expertise in game design, visual arts, user experience, structured producing and cross-platform programming.

Where can I get the cards?

In the game app, the more you play, the more digital cards you earn. You can also collect additional digital cards using the QR code scanner.

Do I need to know anything about trading card games to play Book of Beasts?

No, you do not have to be familiar with any other trading card games or have played them to understand Book of Beasts.

Which platforms can I use to play Book of Beasts?

Book of Beasts can be played  on smartphones and tablets using iOS or Android systems.

What are the technical requirements for the app?

• On iOS, the app runs on Version 8.0 and later.
• On Android, you need to be running at least version 4.1 to play Book of Beasts.
• For the PC and Mac version, any recent PC or Mac model from the last 5-10 years should be sufficient.

When will Book of Beasts be available?

You can download the game on the Steam store and get it on Google Play and on the Apple App Store.

Does the app have a chat feature?

No. Book of Beasts does not have a chat feature. To express your feelings during matches, you can send Beastly (Book of Beasts -themed emoji) to the opponent player.

Do I need a Book of Beasts account?

Yes, you need a free account to play Book of Beasts. All you need is a player name, a valid email address, and a password.

Is the card collection on my mobile phone the same as on a different device or tablet?

Yes, if you log into your account from a different device, you will find your entire card collection there.

Do I need an Internet connection to play?

Yes, you need to be connected to the Internet to play Book of Beasts. Please note that using the app may incur additional charges with your mobile service provider if you are not logged into a wifi network.

Someone in my family would like to set up their own Book of Beasts account. Is that OK?

If someone else would like to play Book of Beasts on your device, you can log out of your account and log in with a different account or create a new one. Please note that your collection is linked to your account and not to your device.

How can I improve the game’s performance?

On certain Android devices, disabling power saving mode may improve performance. Please see your device instructions for more details.

Who can play the game?

Anyone who has installed the app can play the game.

Is the game available in different languages?

At the moment, Book of Beasts is available in English.

What should I do if I’ve forgotten my password?

If you are unable to log in, select the appropriate option on the start screen. We will then send you an email containing a link to reset your password.

My account has been locked by mistake!

If you believe your account has been locked by mistake, please contact us and send us a brief description of your problem.

Help! I’ve received a code or redeem link in WhatsApp or via email and it does open the browser, but not the Book of Beasts app!

When you click on an Book of Beasts code or redeem link on your mobile, the Book of Beasts app should be opened automatically.

However, we have heard from players that on iOS, there are situations where this automatic link is deactivated. You might have deactivated it by tapping a button at the top right corner of the navigation bar after opening the automatic link. You can re-enable it with the following steps:

1. Copy the code or redeem link in WhatsApp or in your email with the regular “copy” function .
2. Open the Notes app and paste the code or redeem link in a new note.
3. Long-press the code or redeem link until you see the context menu below.
4. Choose «Open in “Book of Beasts”».
5. The link is properly opened and unlocked in Book of Beasts.
6. From now on the automatic link is reactivated in all other apps as well.

If that does not help, try to reinstall the Book of Beasts app again.

Data protection

What happens to my customer data?

By creating an Book of Beasts account, data entered in the registration form will be stored on the Book of Beasts servers. The game behavior is anonymized and stored solely for the purpose of improving the game.  For more information, see the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

In which country is the data stored and processed?

The Book of Beasts account data is hosted on the Book of Beasts servers. As a game launched worldwide, we use servers that are as close as possible to the players to provide the best gaming experience possible. Servers in Switzerland, Germany and the USA (e. g. Apple and Google services) are used. Further information can be found in the privacy policy.

Can I delete my data?

Yeah. If you would like to request a deletion of your account, you can do so at support@playbookofbeasts.com If you wish to remove from the marketing materials, you can do so by unsubscribing from the newsletter.
